Today, July 23rd, is National Hot Dog Day! Chef Mike created these specialty hot dogs for us: Cajun Surf & Turf Dog and the BBQ Onion Dog. Don’t they sound delicious? Here are the ingredients and directions if you would like to make them at home:
Cajun Surf & Turf Dog
Use small shrimp size 61/70 or you can cut to size larger shrimp. Sauté the shrimp in oil and Cajun spice until cooked. Top the dog with the Cajun shrimp and finish with a sriracha mayo (equal parts sriracha and mayonnaise)
BBQ Onion Dog
Sauté onions in a BBQ Sauce of your choice (At Caneel we use housemade tamarind mango BBQ sauce). Sauté until the onions are caramelized. Top the dog with BBQ onions and finish with some fried onions for a contrast in texture.
